Second half of 2026
Writing projects and why I've been so late.

Since my last blog post, where I created (and then absolved) Absurdist Shirts, LLC with my son, I've been pretty busy. In May of 2025 I went back to college at Waubonsee Community College, which is exactly a block from where I live. In three semesters, I earned two associates degrees (Arts and Science), and in the last semester was on the dean's list, the president's list, and the Phi Theta Kappa honors society.
The reason I have had little time to blog, or pay more attention to my personal writing projects, is that while I was attending Waubonsee, I had three procedures done on my shoulder, had carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel procedures on both arms, and just for fun, had an emergency removal of my gallbladder. All during the three semesters of school.
Writing was a bit difficult between several surgeries, recovery, physical therapy and so forth. It basically put the breaks on everything in my life except for school (which was no easy feat.
One of the projects I was able to finish, but need to edit at some point, is book three of the Tails of the Village Idiot, The Resurrection of the Village Idiot. In this third book, I come to terms with the Village Idiot as not just an alter ego, but a literal part of who I am as a person, and my way of handling trauma throughout my adult life. Since 1998 or so, I kept the Village Idiot persona to my writing, and now I finally admit that he and I are the same. This is a very hard-core, raw account of a very specific traumatic relationship that I had, and is probably the craziest roller-coaster in all of my autobiographical writing. This is also in the structural phase of editing.
As well as releasing the third book on it's own, the other reason this has taken so long, is that I was planning on combining all four books (including "Poetry" in one book. The working title is The Path of the Village Idiot and this refers to my writing as my personal trauma path that I've been following for nearly thirty years. I plan on completing this project pretty soon, as I'm finally able to type for more than twenty minutes at a time without having to either medicate or ice my wrists.
In September of 2023, I had the pleasure of having a gallery showing of all of my paintings, and I created a small hardcover coffee table book called Damaged Perspectives, which describes my paintings and the inspiration behind them. I have a couple things to fix in the editing process, but otherwise, I anticipate this is also going to be published this year on Amazon as well.
Finally, and this is something I haven't talked about to anyone, I began working on a non-fiction book, a sort of guide book, for people to recognize, avoid and defend oneself against a narcissist in relationships.
This has been a very difficult book to write, but I'm in the final structural editing phase of this book, and I'm double-checking that the research papers and journals that I referenced haven't been updated or are outdated and need new sources. I also expect this to be published sometime in the beginning of 2027.
So sorry I haven't been around, but it's because I've been seriously busy with school and life in general. I will post an update as I publish each of these books.
